Hey y’all! I hope your summer is going great and you are getting plenty of sunshine! We finally had some rain, here in Nashville. I was hoping that it would loosen up some of the heat and humidity, but it is still so muggy that we break into a sweat just going to check the mailbox. Speaking of checking the mailbox…I got my July Ipsy Glam Bag! It came on Saturday and I have had a chance to try out all of the products. Today, I am going to share my thoughts on what was included. This month’s bag is an ocean water blue. The theme is all things Summer and it promises to have you pool-party ready, in no time! The bag even seems to be water resistant, so that you can toss it in your beach bag and go.
Hempz Sweet Pineapple & Honey Melon Body Moisturizer
I LOVE it! I have actually used lotion from this brand before and it definitely gives you the moisture you need. I have super dry skin so thick and creamy lotions are my absolute favorites. But what I love most about this, is the delicious smell! Seriously, y’all. It smells like Pina Colada’s and Summer Nights. It doesn’t smell artificial at all and it’s not so overwhelming that it knocks you out. It just smells good. Plain and simple.
BKR Paris Water Balm Glossy Lip Treatment
This lip balm treatment glides on smoothly and doesn’t feel sticky. It doesn’t take much to give your lips a soft and supple feel. I have only used it twice, since receiving my Glam Bag, but my lips already feel a lot smoother. The sent isn’t strong and reminds me of a mild soap. If you are in the market for a good balm treatment, I would recommend this one.
theBalm Cosmetics Nude Beach Eyeshadow in Bodacious
This is a good matte eye shadow, with great color payoff. Bodacious is the color I received in my Glam Bag and it is a rich bronze color. I ended up blending it with a shimmery rose-colored eye shadow I had from a previous bag. I have been a fan of theBalm Cosmetics, in the past, and this product hasn’t changed my mind.
Vintage Sparkling Lipgloss by Jessica Liebeskind in Papaya
There isn’t really anything notable about this lipgloss, except for the brush applicator. I’m used to the sponge tip applicators, so it was a surprise to unscrew the lid and find what looked like a nail polish brush. The color is nice and the consistency isn’t sticky, but it is a gloss, so don’t expect it to last very long.
I tried out the eyeshadow and the lipgloss on the same day and decided to take a photo of the results, so that you could see what they both looked like on. As I said above, I did blend the eyeshadow with a another one that I had on hand.
Sundays Nail Polish in No. 45
When I first pulled this nail polish out of the bag, I was a little disappointed in the color. It’s sort of a sky blue. There is nothing wrong with that, but I usually wear bright colors, especially in the Summer. Think Hot Pink, Orange, Lime Green, etc. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but I actually love it! It’s not something I would have bought, which is one of the things I like about the Glam Bag. They do try to use your likes and dislikes to create your bag selections, but I still get a taste of things I wouldn’t have normally tried.
This polish went on easily and the finish is great! I almost didn’t do a clear top coat, but decided to in the end, just so I could make it last longer. I had never heard of the Sundays brand before, but if this nail polish stands the test of time, then I may become a regular customer.
My Overall Impression
This is one of those bags that reminds me why I keep subscribing to Ipsy. I had been debating on whether I wanted to keep it going or not, but after this bag, I am willing to give it some more time. I like and will used all five of these products. My favorite from this month’s bag, is definitely the Hempz moisturizer! In fact, I’m gonna wrap this up, and go slather my arms and legs in it.
Until next time!
