I’m back! Did you miss me? I know I kind of left this blog hanging for awhile, but I had my reasons. Since March, things have been kind of crazy around here. If you were following our adoption journey, then you know that we had done a lot of paper work and a lot of waiting. Today, I want to share the rest of the story. So, here is how we became a forever family.

When I last left off, we were knee deep in our dossier process. Notarizations, background checks, etc. As overwhelming as it all seemed, at the time, we were able to get it all done. After our dossier was submitted, the process started moving so quickly. After having a couple Skype sessions with our little guy, we headed to Taiwan for our first trip.

Forever Family
We met T for the first time, on April 29, 2019. We had to travel for our court date and were able to spend three days playing with and loving on our boy. I tried to soak up as much time as I could. The flight back home was the worst, but I knew I would be back to get him soon.

On June 13th, 2019, we were reunited with T and on June 15th, 2019 we became a Forever Family. It was the best day of my life, so far! He has been such a blessing and I am thankful everyday for the joy he has brought.
Since arriving home, we have been busy adjusting to our new normal, as a family of three. There was jet lag to get over and attachments to start building. There have been ups and downs, but mostly ups! He is doing so well and we couldn’t be happier.
I’m sure we will still have hard moments. We will remember our training. Adoption starts from loss. Loss is trauma. We are prepared for that and we have lifelines to call on, if we need them. But, for now we will soak up all the good moments and continue bonding with our new son. This is our happily ever after.

Until next time, my friends!
Much Love,
