Hey y'all! It has been awhile since I posted about a night out in Nashville, so after our most recent adventure, I thought it was time to share. Justin wanted to surprise me for Valentine's Day and since the holiday fell smack dab in the middle of the work week, we decided to make our date the following Friday. Justin planned the "activity" in advanced, but he didn't consider dinner plans, so we made that decisions together the night before.
Suzy Wong's House of Yum
We both love asian food and we wanted to try something new, so after perusing Open Table Justin decided on Suzy Wong's House of Yum. We didn't know much about it going in, but the menu looked tasty. When we were seated at our table, the waitress informed us that Friday night is their Drag N Dinner. Yep, that's right! Our first stop on our Valentine's date was asian cuisine with a drag show! Performances are every 30 minutes from 6:30-9PM on Friday and Saturday nights. Even though it was a surprise to us, we still had fun and it was a memorable Valentine's dinner date, that's for sure! The food was delicious! We shared Crab Wontons with Bacon for our starter. For the main course, Justin had General Tso's Chicken and I had the Crunchy Shrimp and Avocado Maki. My drinks were unique and tasty. I had the Lychee Martine and the Passion Fruit Sangria.
The Nashville Symphony Presents the Music of Journey
This is the first time my husband has been able to keep the surprise a secret all the way up until the even started. It wasn't for lack of trying either! I bugged him about it, but he still didn't spill the beans. Even when I was sitting in the balcony at the Schermerhorn, I didn't know what they would be playing until Justin said, "look down at your program". Duh! There it was, in the bottom, left corner: The Music of Journey! I was so excited. The Nashville Symphony did great, as always, and the band they brought in to join them, was awesome too.
This ended up being a date night to remember! We both had a blast and we didn't want the night to end.
Until next time!
